Installing

Unzip the download. Inside are a Windows folder, a macOS folder, the manual and an install note. The steps are the same for both plug-ins; Ember Clip is shown.

Windows

  1. Close your DAW.
  2. Copy Ember Clip.vst3 from the Windows folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\. Windows asks for administrator permission; click Continue.
  3. Open your DAW and rescan plug-ins. In FL Studio: Options, Manage plugins, Find installed plugins.

The .exe in the same folder is a standalone version you can run without a DAW.

macOS

  1. Close your DAW.
  2. From the macOS folder, copy Ember Clip.vst3 into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 and Ember Clip.component into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components.
  3. Open your DAW and rescan plug-ins.

If macOS says the plug-in cannot be opened or your DAW does not list it, open Terminal and run these two lines (use Ember Drums in place of Ember Clip for that plug-in), then restart your DAW:

sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Ember Clip.vst3" sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Ember Clip.component"

Updating

Download the latest version from the link in your email, close your DAW and copy the new files over the old ones. Your licence and your settings stay as they are. The version number is shown in each plug-in's header.
